Release agent and method for handmade FRP products
Today we’d like to introduce common release method for handmade FRP products. There are mainly two methods: manual demoulding and mechanical demoulding
1 Manual demoulding
The general practice is to use a rubber hammer or a wooden hammer to strike the mold to separate the product from the mold. It is possible to judge whether the mold and the product are separated from the knocking sound. If the sound is empty and light, then the product and mold are separated, and after one part of separation, the tapping point is gradually expanded to gradually expand the separation range, and the last section can be separated by a tool pulsing method. When it is shaken, it is selected at the flange of the product. If there is no flange, you can reserve a few flanges at the edge of the product, and then separate it. If the tool is directly inserted into the gap between the product and the mold, the product and the mold will be damaged, which will affect the service life of the mold and the quality of the product.
2 Mechanical demoulding
Commonly used mechanical demoulding methods are: traction method, pneumatic method and screw jacking method. The traction method generally uses a roll-off machine, a crane to pull the product or the mold to achieve the release effect; the air pressure method presses the compressed air generated by the air compressor into the contact surface of the product and the mold, and utilizes the compressed air. The expansion force separates the product from the mold. This is the simplest and best-off demoulding method. This method can be applied regardless of the size of the product, male mold or female mold, especially for cylinders without demoulding taper; It is the screw jacking method, which is to set the screw jack lifting device on the mold.
