Introduction of raw material for FRP products–part 1
Main raw materials for the pultrusion FRP products:
Resin matrix:
Pultruded FRP mainly uses unsaturated polyester resin and vinyl resin, and other resins as phenolic resin, epoxy resin, methacrylic resin and other resins. In recent years, phenolic resins have the advantages of fire-retardant. Phenolic resin has been developed aboard, which is suitable for pultrusion frp products. It is called second-generation phenolic resins and it has been promoted and used. In addition to the thermosetting resin, a thermoplastic resin is also used as needed.
Fiber reinforced material:
The fiber reinforced materials used in the putrusion FRP products are mainly E-glass fiber rovings, and C glass fiber, S glass fiber, T glass fiber, AR glass fiber, etc. Our products only use the best fiber glass—E glass fiber. Fiber glass may be selected according to the product requirements. Synthetic fibers such as carbon fiber, aramid fiber, polyester fiber and vinylon can be used for the purpose of special purpose products. In order to increase the transverse strength of the hollow article, a continuous fiber mat, cloth, belt or the like may also be used as the reinforcing material.
Auxiliary material:
Initiator
The characteristics of the initiator are usually expressed in terms of active oxygen content, critical temperature, and half-life.
Currently commonly used initiators are
MEKP potassium peroxide ethyl ketone
TBPB tert-butyl peroxybenzoate
BPO benzoyl peroxide
LM-P pultruding special curing agent
TBPO tert-butyl peroxyoctanoate
BPPD diphenoxyethyl peroxydicarbonate
P-16
Very few single-components are used in practical applications. Usually two-component or three-component are used at different critical temperatures.
Epoxy resin curing agent
Commonly used are acid anhydrides, tertiary amines, imidazoles and other curing agents
